MCC Saskatchewan recently held our annual Relief Sale fundraiser on June 11 & 12 in Saskatoon.

This event brings in many people for food, music and sales!  However, feeding big numbers is always a challenge for dinnerware.   Disposable?  Endless dishes?  What to do…

This year the Relief Sale committee chose to go with taterware, 100% biodegradeable plates & cultery made from potatoes.  Although there was some confusion (for some) over where to toss each piece.  The garbage/recycle bins were well-manned and the initiative was a huge success.  What a great way to use composting to reduce our waste.  We are very proud of our committee!

Here are a few pics from the day:

Keep up the good work team!

    Hi Guys!
I loved the taterware! Where did you bring all of it to get composed?

One of our constituent farmers spread it out over his field. He figures it will be fully decomposed in 2 months!
