Hot Compost

16 Jun

During our May focus on Packaging, I discovered a sun chips bag which claims to be 100% compostable.
However, after shredding it and putting it into the vermi-post, I discovered that it requires hot compost to biodegrade.  Being unfamiliar with “hot composting”, a fellow No Waste Wednesday-er (thank you Hayden) shared this website with me and I thought I should pass it on to all of you.

They claim “the hotter the pile, the faster the composting”…

Enjoy!

And here’s the photo of the failing biodegradration in my vermi-post 😦
